­­­By composing translucent layers of both appropriated and­­­ original text, my work employs printmaking and bookmaking to activate the simultaneously individual and collective sensation inherent to the process of reading. I am interested in the potential of language to traverse both physical and psychological thresholds, from one “surface” to another – the journey between language printed on a page, projected on a screen, and comprehended on the surface of the human brain.  Language itself moves between us, and is one of the tools we have to form networks of knowledge and commonality.
